Dear Students,
Well I just read through the information sheets you gave me on traveling abroad and I have to say--I'm in the same boat as you where Bulgaria is concerned. I don't know much about the country as of yet. BUT I did get my itinerary for the country, so let me tell you some of the places I'll be visiting (then on the map you can see where I'll be traveling).
First we will be driving into Sophia (the capital) from Greece on the 19th of June. Here in Sophia we will learn about Ancient Civilizations, go to the National History Museum, visit some churches and monasteries, go to an Art Museum, and eat at many different restaurants along the way!
Next we will take a 3 hour bus trip to Veliko Turnovo (a city right in the middle of the country) and from there go to the city of Shumen. We will eat lunch at Shumen and then our final destination is the city of Varna on the Black Sea coast. In Varna we will be traveling to some monasteries.
After Varna I will visit Bourgas and have a day trip to Nessebar.
Finally we will be traveling to Brestovitsa for several days and then end back in Sophia. From Sophia I will fly back to Chicago.
It sounds like a lot, but we have three weeks to do all this traveling! I'll update you more when I find out more about the places I will be traveling!

How will you be getting from city to city? Train or airplane? Miss K
We will be traveling by bus. I'm guessing it will be one of those big touring buses. I'll have to make sure to bring my dramamine!

Wow! That's a lot of moving around for just three weeks. Do you think your going to be able to pull all of it off, including the other things you would like to see?

Hmmmm....Melissa, that's the second request I've gotten for bringing back an exotic animal. I don't know if customs in the airport will let me do that! How about a picture?
